International Studies Internships and Job Opportunities

As part of the Master of International Studies program, students are encouraged to complete an internship with an appropriate organization that supports their interests. Our internship director works individually with students to identify the best placement for them. Students are then able to earn academic credit for their experience.

Students in the program have held internships both in the United States and abroad. In the United States, students have worked for the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the North Carolina International Visitor's Center and North Carolina Department of Agriculture. Internationally, students have worked in Singapore, Mexico, Belarus, and Peru, to name just a few locations.

Below are a few resources for MIS students searching for full-time and/or internships positions. It is recommended to contact the MIS Internship Director and utilize the NC Career Development Center. Many MIS students intern at local universities and community colleges in their international offices. Researching the surrounding schools for international higher education opportunities would be beneficial in your job search.
