Our students aim high. We know scholarships help you reach your goals. Merit and need-based scholarships enable students to study abroad, conduct research and in many cases, pay your tuition and meet your financial obligations. Students across our programs have access to opportunities at the school, college and university levels. Students in our Master of Public Administration (MPA) program have the opportunity to pursue the MPA Alumni Society Scholarship, while undergraduate students majoring in political science can pursue a number of discipline-specific awards.
In addition to the awards available at the school level, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences offers merit and need-based scholarships, including the Dean’s Scholar Award, which is reserved for incoming freshmen in any Humanities and Social Sciences major.
NC State offers several university-wide awards to students, including the prestigious Park Scholarship, a four-year scholarship awarded for outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service and character, and the Caldwell Fellowship, a three-year scholarship awarded during a student’s freshman year. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid assists students and parents in applying for and securing financial assistance when family resources are insufficient to meet educational expenses.
Students in the School of Public and International Affairs get top-notch guidance from our team of dedicated undergraduate advisers. Whether you began your academic career as a freshman, transferred from another university or community college, or want to change majors, our staff can help you meet your academic goals.
Each undergraduate student in Political Science or Leadership in the Public Sector is assigned to a professional adviser who can help you with academic planning, goal setting and maximizing your time as an NC State student through engaging experiences like undergraduate research, studying abroad and internships.
As a student enrolled in the Master of International Studies, M.A. in Public Administration, or Ph.D. in Public Administration programs, you will work closely with your adviser or thesis committee to choose courses and conduct research that most closely align with your intellectual curiosity and passions. Expect to work alongside faculty who are at the top of their field as you hone your interests and gain experience that will serve you well. For general advising questions, you can also contact The Graduate School.
